This is a card routine that I have put together for my own use. I claim no originality for the actual tricks involved. All I have done is to take three card effects and blend them into a mini programme.
How often are we called upon to perform something unexpectedly. On many occasions we will hum and haw, trying to think of something to do. I wanted to avoid that, so I developed this routine from a few of my favourite effects.
Now I KNOW what I am going to perform, when called upon AND what to follow it up with. It may appear impromptu, but it is already structured.
Essentially I produce four queens. These are my magical assistants.The red queens are placed to my right (for example) and the black queens to my left.
The spectator picks any card from the deck (no force). This is signed by them. Let us say they have chosen the four of hearts.
The deck is split into two halves. The four of hearts is sandwiched between the two red queens, which are buried in one half of the deck. The two black queens are placed together and placed on top of the other half of the deck. The chosen card vanishes from one half of the deck and appears between the two black queens. Only to vanish again and reappear between the two red queens once again.
The four queens are placed to the one side. Face up.
The chosen card is placed on the table face up and an unknown card is placed face down to the one side. The Chosen card is once again sandwiched between the queens and disappears. When the face down card is turned over it is the chosen signed card.
The chosen signed card is sandwiched between the four queensand disappears, and finally is discovered is your wallet.
Your hand is seen to be completely empty. Absolutely no palming involved.
This is a nice sequence of events and blends very well into a ten to twelve minute programme of card magic.
